About Lakers Youth Hockey
Every Mite through Bantam Lakers Youth Hockey team plays games in the American Youth Hockey League (AYHL) at the NorthStar Youth Forum in Westborough, and some of our teams also play in the National Youth Hockey League (NYHL) at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro.
Youth hockey traditionally has one of the longest seasons of all youth sports. The season starts the end of August and ends the middle of April. It takes a huge commitment by both the players and their parents throughout the season. Most teams will meet for many games, practices, playoffs and Tournaments in the course of the seven and a half-month season.
Youth hockey is one of the most expensive sports to participate in due to the high cost of ice rental, uniforms, as well as each player's hockey equipment. Fundraising and corporate sponsorship has played a big part in helping to defray costs, which is critical in keeping assessments as low as possible.
Lakers Youth Hockey is a proud member of Massachusetts Hockey, which is a subsidiary of USA Hockey.
