Lakers Youth Hockey – Updated 8/31

We had a decent showing at our first Board meeting - I would like to see some more parents participate as the season progresses! See you at our next Board Meeting - SEPT 9th @ the Horgan Rink in Auburn @ 7:30 pm

Please note that the Organization will be strictly enforcing a “No skate” policy for past due assessments effective August 31st. I have contacted parents directly via email.
Coaches will be strictly enforcing this policy this year. Your child will not be allowed to return unless the coaches receive clearance from Sarah Mongeau.

USA Hockey Registrations

- Very important to get all of the coaches, players and team managers (if applicable) registered with USA HOCKEY ASAP. Send your registrations to Bill Terski at

Mite- Squirt Development Coordinator - Still Open!
-     We need 1 or 2 people to step up and help solicit and schedule our vendors for this year’s Mite and Squirt development clinics, a very important position to develop out younger player’s skills!

New Jerseys are ordered - waiting for our first shipment !!!!!!!!!!!

Parent Meetings -
- I will be conducting Parent meetings during the first 2 weeks of practice to answer questions, go over any policies, etc. Your Coaches will advise you the date and time.

GOLF Tournament, WEB Sponsors & General Fund Raising:
- We need a few parents to help out with Fundraising this year:

Golf Tourney – Please contact Patrick May – , he is looking for 4 dedicated and enthusiastic people to make this year’s event the best – and it’s our BIGGEST Fund raiser that directly offsets increases to our assessments!
WEB Sponsorships: Our new web platform now supports sponsorships. Have a business? If you or anyone you know wants to sponsor our organization? We can add your/their business website link to our home page! Contact Jeff or Steve Atchue – (pricing for space is still under discussion)
General Fundraising events: We have a former Laker Mom stepping up to help us out this year; she needs a few hands to help with calendar raffles, Yankee Candle fund raisers, etc. We have one in the pipeline already and want to kick it off at the first board meeting.

Coach Cliff Giovanucci

The Lakers family is mourning the loss of one of our coaches, Cliff Giovanucci. Cliff was a great coach and the kids loved him. He was happy volunteering his time for the Lakers Organization. In addition to coaching the Peewee 1 team, he was the NYHL Representative and was also on the Lakers Tournament committee. Cliff was the one who made the buckets of Clam Chowder at the Tournament, and was proud to do it.

In remeberance of Coach G, every player in the org will receive a helmet sticker to wear for the 2010-2011 season.
